Commemorating October 7th

Oct 9, 2025

As the two-year anniversary of the October 7th attack in Israel passes, it brings profound reflection for the Jewish New Year. The rise of antisemitism shows the need for Holocaust education. Learning history from survivors strengthens the message “Never Forget is Now.”  What has the world learned after 80 years after liberation? Understanding each other can only bridge a divided world.

Join us to hear the distinguished author Dara Horn at the Annual Remembrance Dinner. Her messages will shed light on the challenges of Holocaust education and teaching in the current world of misinformation.

We will honor Bill Graham and Shelley Hill with the Steve Uhlfelder Humanitarian Award. It serves to keep the legacy of a man who always fought for justice and humanity.  All the proceeds are put into the critical resources needed by teachers and schools. With all the cutbacks in education, every dollar makes a difference.

All are welcome to visit the HERC building located at Tallahassee State College, where we have a large selection of books for reference and our staff is available to meet with guests . Support is vital as it helps ensure that HERC remains a place of learning and hope.  Donations help to ensure that present and future generations have access to these vital resources. You can honor a loved one’s memory; celebrate a special occasion or pay tribute to someone special in your life.
