Help Make the World a Better Place

Sep 6, 2022

Greetings Friends and Members,

Throughout our schools, classes in social studies, history, world geography, language Arts, and more are taught with an interest in fortifying our lessons of history. To this end, units of curricula are also taught on the Holocaust as mandated by Florida Statutes; to assist this effort the Holocaust Education Resource Council has initiated a program entitled “Micro Credential.” The School Administration has indicated strong support for our program, as most educators need to receive training to teach this subject. Holocaust survivors are an excellent learning resource for our school teachers and are growing old with few remaining able to travel.

Your generous contribution would support the expense to bring individual teachers to a Holocaust museum or sponsor a trip to Poland. Along the way, lessons will be brought to life, as well as an understanding of responsibility and courage. Thank you very much for your consideration.

On August 22nd, a CNN Special – “Rising Hate: Antisemitism in America” aired with alarming reports. Antisemitism is finding new and terrifying footing in American society. Though it has always existed, this ancient hatred has grown in recent years, moving from fringe groups and obscure chatrooms to the mainstream, both online and on the streets of communities across the country. With white nationalists radicalized online perpetrating deadly shootings, and insidious conspiracy theories and tropes normalized by political leaders, CNN Anchor and Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash took an in depth look to report what we may not know for education. We need to take a lead role in amplifying those teachings amid a dramatic rise in antisemitic violence across the U.S.
