Holocaust education is especially important today, when so many seem to have forgotten what we learned from the tragic experience of the Thirties and Forties. At its best, our nation is a haven for the oppressed, and our laws protecting refugees are intended to achieve that. With the current crisis at our Southwest land border, now is the time to renew our commitment to put into practice the sad lessons we learned from the Holocaust and use that knowledge and compassion to meet the challenges of our time.
