Thank You for Joining Us at the Annual Remembrance Dinner

Nov 20, 2025

HERC is celebrating another successful Annual Remembrance Dinner! We would like to thank everyone for joining us not only to honor Bill Graham and Shelley Hill with the Steve Uhlfelder Humanitarian Award, but also to hear the remarkable Dara Horn speak about Holocaust education, antisemitism, and many more important topics. In the wake of a global rise in antisemitism, Dara Horn told over 400 attendees at the organization’s annual gala dinner on October 28th that the only solution is to create more education in schools. The entire education system — K-12 to college — must be retaught.

The ballroom was filled with hundreds of community members who joined together to remember the six million Jewish people, along with all other victims of the Holocaust. Attendees included educators and students who have demonstrated that learning the lessons of Holocaust history is critical to understanding the need to continue teaching the next generation.

We hope to inspire and impact everyone with the lessons of history in an effort to provide understanding regarding the ramifications of unchecked hate to the extreme. Helping students become the guiding light for the next generation to make a difference in the world today is one of our goals.

HERC started its programs on the principles that we have an obligation to preserve the memories of the victims of the Holocaust and to educate students about the evils that led to such massive human extermination. On a continual basis, HERC plans guidance for educators, as well as provide materials and resources to create quality classroom experiences.

A special thanks to the wonderful volunteers and board members! Our many meetings were greatly enhanced by such a helping group. The members of the committee contributed many hours of dedication to another successful Remembrance Dinner.
