While Jewish Americans make up just two percent of the U.S. population, according to FBI hate crime statistics, crimes targeting Jews represent most of religion-based hate crimes.
Reports of antisemitism in Florida are making headlines. The Naples Daily News recently reported on a series of antisemitic leaflets that appeared at homes across Florida.
According to the paper, whose policy prohibits printing antisemitic statements, “One of the pamphlets was themed for COVID and the other was for the media, all anti-Jewish.”
In the meantime, in South Florida police are investigating vandalism of a Fort Lauderdale home where vandals spray-painted swastikas on its garage and a Ukrainian flag hung on the garage door.

A recent survey shows widespread misunderstanding – and even real doubts – among a surprisingly large number of Americans regarding the darkest chapter in modern world history. The survey, conducted for HERC by Sachs Media Group underscores the need for continued and strengthened education to make sure that the horrors of the Holocaust are never again repeated or accepted.
